Checkbook HD: Personal Finance App Reviews

Does not do as advertised. Will not export CVS file data, just shows font style data on the xl spread sheet. Will not import files. I had to manually enter data when I had a csv file available. I download and spent money for the mac pro version and the iPad version and can not use either one. Buyer Beware.

Checkbook HD pin/password doesn’t work. Why would this important feature not work? Contacted Checkbook HD and they said it would be corrected in the next update. It should be fixed promptly as this is a very important feature!

I purchased the app for both my iMac and my iPad. The one on my iPad has some glitches. The biggest issue is that the two were never able to sync. Wasted money to purchase for iMac. It has never worked.

The “Syncing to iCloud” message never goes away. Miserable app, and every update results in more problems. I have to find a better solution.

I lived by this app, but it looks like I am not alone in seeing that the latest version broke *everything* pertaining to iCloud. This needs to be updated STAT!!!!

I live by this app as well and it has been and still is a great app. However I had the same sync issues as others here. There is a fix for this that ibearsoft has posted. I found this fix by doing a search for “checkbook hd won’t sync” on the “G” website. It was the first result in my list and it takes you to ibearsoft. All my devices are now in sync, mac, iPad, and iPhone. Hope this helps cause this is a great app.

Too frustrating to continue

This app is the only one I could find that will sync between Mac and iOS devices. However, as of the last few updates, this has been less and less true. Currently, the latest versions on iOS 8.0.2 and OS X 10.10 simply do not sync. They randomly miss large numbers of transactions, making it useless as any sort of mobile application.

It would not sync so i wasted 11 dollars, wish i could get money back

No luck getting iCloud to transfer info from iPad tp Mac or iPhone. This is the MAIN reason I paid for this app. Not vrey happy with it as of now!

Still DOES NOT SYNC WITH ICLOUD “ AT ALL” Tryed fix on website still does not sync You people need to fix this app and update it Read ON Works ok now

I have been using Checkbook for maybe couple years. I used to love it and help me keep track my account. Now with the newer version and all, the iCloud and sync is not working anymore. For now, I’m using just for Apple Mac and not using iPhone anymore. I’m using another budget app in my iPhone to sync with my apple Mac to track the budget. Checkbook is just for bank account to track banking transaction. That’s all I can use.

This is the app I have been looking for!!!! and finally found it, cause it syncs all my info accross all my devices, fingers crossed! The only thing that would make it perfect is the ability to add the credit limit to the credit card accounts so that you can see the not only the balance on the card but also the available credit, other apps do this but that is the only thing they got right so for now I’ll enjoy this app and hope this feature will be added as part of an update, again fingers crossed

This is a good app that I can keep updated information on my Macbook, iPad and iPhone. I like how you can give each transcation a category. I with you could short your transactions by date (newest first or oldest first), by payee name etc and when you launch the program the icloud sync takes a good while. I with you’d spead this up.

Use this app on my iphone 6 and it works OK. Just payed $11.99 for the Mac app and enetered my transactions and they will not all sync to my iPhone app. This is a HUGE pain to not have all of your account balances the same! This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Purchased for iMac and iPad with the intention of eliminating the need to carry my checkbook register. Set up on iMac first and put in all of my transactions since Jan 1. Entering the data in and managing accounts in the Mac version was easy. It asked if I wanted to use iCloud…said yes. But it never uploaded the data. Installed iPad version and pointed it to iCloud…no data. Sent a tech support request. No response after 5 days. I really want this to be a good solution, but with no syncing and an unresponsive tech support department, I have to rate it low. Hopeful that I will be able to change this...

Bought the Mac version and the iphone version. Wanted to get away from using paper checkbook register. App works except it won’t sync. Because this won’t sync with iCloud or my iPhone, makes it pointless because I have no backup if my computer crashes. I guess I’ll go back to paper registers for my checkbook and skip the app. Too bad there is no money back guarantee.

This app seemed to work well at first, but now crashes when “Downloading data from iCloud” Seems to be hit an miss, usually I can get it to successfully sync 1 out of 5 times. This problem presents itself on both the iOS and Mac version.

Ive had this app for over a year and a half, it used to work and sync to my Air, mini, and iPhone. Then it stopped syncing. Now it has stopped opening....it crashes while downloading from iCloud! Waste-of-money app

I’ve had the free version of this app on my iPad/iPhone for quite sometime now. I’ve finally committed to using it after testing other apps. The instant updates between computer and mobile devices via iCloud is great. Though some improvements are needed. 1) Add a feature that allows you to add scanned photos of receipts from you computer or pictures of receipts from your mobile devices and attach it to specific transactions. 2) In the mobile app you can edit the time of the transaction, make that feature available in the desktop version. 3) Add a colum so you can list date of transaction and a seperate column for cleared transactions 4) Add feature to sort columns 5) Allow for transactions to be moved manually so they can be in an order at the users discretion. 6) A better help site and user manual is definitely needed without having to watch tutorials.
